Jake Roper of the Danbury Westerners connects for a walk off grand slam in the bottom of the 9th, earning The Westies a home playoff game, and winning by a final score of 10-7 over the Newport Gulls in New England Collegiate Baseball League action on August 2, 2021 at Rogers Park in Danbury, CT. The slam capped the craziest of ninth innings in which the Gulls took a two run lead after first tying the score in the top half of the inning, then Danbury clawed back a run in the bottom half before Roper’s slam won it.
